Origin: Neolamprologus Brichardi are native to Lake Tanganyika, Africa.

Feeding: Neolamprologus brichardi should be fed frozen foods such as brine shrimp. Also their diet should consist of some vegetable, such as, spirulina or spinach. High quality pellets can be considered, but not as a staple.
Aquarium : Neolamprologus Brichardi can be aggressive with its territory, especially when breeding. They are best kept in school of the same species. If you are adding other species, consider other Tanganyikan cichlids, such as Julidochromis or stappersi. Since they do not get large, a pair can be kept in a relatively small tank. However if you are schooling these fish consider a 55 gallon or better. They are rockdwellers, so rockwork and hiding spots are ideal.
Breeding: Neolamprologus brichardi are substrate spawners. They lay their eggs on the roof of rockwork. They are relatively easy to breed in aquariums. To successfully breed Brichardi, buy a few small specimens and have them pair off. Once they lay the eggs they will hatch within a couple days and become free swimming within a week. Brood care is common amongst brichardi, several pairs will actively protect the fry.
